The highly anticipated action thriller Bollywood movie Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has finally locked its new release date. The movie will now hit theaters on 10 July 2026, after the makers decided to push it from its earlier December 2025 slot. The reason behind this delay of the movie is that the visual effects team needed extra time to get the action sequences looking sharp and grand on the big screen. Fans who were eagerly waiting for Alia Bhatt’s first full-fledged action role will now have to mark their calendars for mid 2026.
The thing is, Alpha is big news in Bollywood, the first time a big studio is showcasing two women in the lead of a hardcore action film. Alia Bhatt is featured as one of the two lead roles in the film and Sharvari will also be joining her in this action-packed pair. It puts both women in harm’s way; there is no option but to work together to keep them safe. They are tested to their breaking point physically and mentally when they take on an invincible foe that is not abating the challenge. But the film is not afraid of action either, as there are some devastating fight scenes, chases and scenes where you’re not sure if both are going to make it out alive.
What makes Alpha even more exciting is that it sits inside the YRF Spy Universe, the same world that gave us Tiger, Pathaan, and War. This means fans can expect little connections, Easter eggs, or maybe even surprise appearances that tie everything together. The film is directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The action scenes have been planned by stunt experts from different parts of the world, and a big VFX team is putting in the work to make sure the film looks grand and eye-catching when it finally shows up in theaters.
Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, R. Madhavan, and Dia Mirza are also part of the cast, which makes Alpha look like one of the biggest projects YRF has taken on in recent times. Anil Kapoor plays Colonel Vikrant Kaul, while Bobby Deol steps in as the main villain in a brutal showdown against the two leads.
